Registered Apprenticeships Toolkit for Clean Energy Employers

This toolkit will help employers start, join, and implement Registered Apprenticeship programs.

Why Apprenticeships?

Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAs) are a key tool for developing, scaling, and sustaining a diverse pipeline of trained talent ready to power the transition to a clean energy future. Through a customizable, employer-driven, earn-while-you-learn training model, RAs help address critical workforce challenges while creating pathways to family-sustaining clean energy careers in a wide variety of occupations.

This toolkit is intended to provide employers and other stakeholders with the background information and supplemental resources needed to implement RAs in the clean energy workforce.

In addition to reviewing this Toolkit, employers seeking support with apprenticeships in the clean energy and energy efficiency sectors can also get in touch with IREC’s Apprenticeships in Clean Energy (ACE) Network. The ACE Network is a national coalition of industry, training, and workforce development leaders led by IREC that supports the expansion of Registered Apprenticeship opportunities in clean energy and energy efficiency industries. Through the ACE Network, employers can access technical assistance on developing or connecting to Registered Apprenticeships.
